Talking BROTOX: The Guy’s Guide to Plastic Surgery

Every year, more and more men opt in for plastic surgery. In fact, recent studies suggest that the number of men getting BOTOX® has risen over 200% over the last decade. And, 30 percent of new plastic surgery patients in the country are men. There are a few factors at play here. First, men are simply more careful and open about their appearance now than ever. In addition to that, business culture has become increasingly geared toward youth. So even middle-aged men are finding it more important to appear young in order to remain competitive in the business world.

If you are a guy looking for a young yet distinguished look, why not try one of these procedures that are so popular with our male patients?

Talking-BROTOXBOTOX®: A quick fix for fine lines around the eyes and on the forehead, both of which can be a dead giveaway of your age, BOTOX® is simple and pain-free. In just five minutes (you heard us!), we can relax the muscles that are encouraging those wrinkles to make you look younger. Remember that the effects are temporary, lasting about 6 months before you will need re-treatment.

Juvéderm®: While BOTOX® treats the upper half of the face, Juvéderm® goes to work on the bottom half. Juvéderm® is an injectable filler that literally fills in lines around the mouth. Common fixes that we do in our office are for “parentheses” (lines that go from the nose down to the chin) and marionette lines (lines that extend from the corners of the mouth straight down.) The appointment is just 15 minutes long and the results are temporary, lasting 6-12 months. After that, you will need re-treatment to maintain the look.

Blepharoplasty – (Eyelid Surgery): As men age, their eyelids tend to sag, looking heavier and giving them a tired look. A tried and true fix for this dilemma is eyelid surgery. During this procedure, we remove excess skin and fat to give you a look that is more in tune with your youthful energy! The look is permanent, and although you could still develop wrinkles in the area, it is unlikely that the bags will return as the fat has been removed.

Body Procedures: There are three popular procedures among men for fixing “problem areas” on the body. They are liposuction (for love handles or belly fat), gynecomastia surgery (excess breast tissue), and brachioplasty (arm lift for excess skin and fat under the arms.) All are safe and permanent procedures, performed in our surgery centers under general anesthesia and require rest at home following the procedure.

Guys, please don’t be shy! We want you to know that we see men every day in our office and are able to successfully give them the young, distinguished look they desire!
