2016 Plastic Surgery Trends: Changing Preferences in San Antonio Cosmetic Procedures
It’s 2016, and we are seeing a slight shift in the popular plastic procedures here in the United States.
Breast Augmentation: bigger isn’t always better.
The popularity of bigger breast implants is diminishing. At consults when women point to celebrity cleavage they admire, smaller chested-beauties Kate Hudson, Rihanna, and Gwen Stefani are becoming increasingly popular. Growing popularity in smaller breasts isn’t just among women drawn to implants. Doctors are reporting an increase in requests for breast reduction, even amongst teens. The highly publicized breast reduction of 17-year-old Modern Family star, Ariel Winter, is leading the way for teenage girls desiring a smaller bust size.
Kissable lips for 2016.
Full, kissable lips are becoming more and more popular thanks to socialites like Kylie Jenner. Thirty percent of dermatologists, and 43% of plastic surgeons report they received more requests about lips in 2015 than 2014 according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS).
Plastic Surgery is for men, too!
2015 was the year for men! More and more men are seeking cosmetic procedures for their chest or eyelids. About 40% of plastic surgeons said they received a higher number of procedure requests from men related to one of those two body parts, compared to the previous year. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons reported that more than 40 percent of breast reductions are now performed on males. “As plastic surgery is becoming more common and accepted in men, we’re seeing more of them undergo procedures to tighten and tone problem areas, like the breasts,” said ASPS president Dr. David Song
