Breast Implant Revision FAQ
How many breast revisions can you have?
Theoretically, you can have as many breast implant revisions as necessary to get the look you want. However, we advise waiting at least six months for complete healing to ensure all swelling is gone, then several months to adjust to the new look and feel of your new breasts before considering further surgery. Keep in mind that you will need adjustment time to get used to your new look, and recovery is a part of this process.
How much does it cost to redo breast implants?
It depends on many variables, including the type of surgery, the implants used, how much scar tissue is involved, the anesthesia used, and more. The best way to get an accurate estimate is to schedule a consultation. After examining and discussing your goals, we can provide you with a precise cost breakdown.
What is the recovery time for breast implant revision?
We advise taking a week off from work following breast implant revision surgery. Stitches are removed around day seven, and we will demonstrate the implant massage technique at two weeks. We ask patients to perform the massage five times daily for the first month, tapering to once a day for the rest of their lives. They can begin wearing a soft cup bra at one month, then switch to an underwire bra at two months. Low-impact exercise can begin at one month, adding more strenuous activities at two months.
Do I need a breast revision?
This is a personal decision based on many factors. Breast surgery specialists can help you decide what can be achieved and whether or not your expectations mesh with the technical possibilities. We specialize in breast implant revision surgeries and have been practicing these procedures for more than 20 years. If you are considering breast revision, we will explain the process and your options to you in detail so you can make an informed decision.
